Not sure where to stick this question . Figured I'd start here..
Getting read to put the tank back in so I pulled the sender and cleaned up the pick up tube.
There was some heavy duty sealer on those aluminum threads...Not sure what exactly they used that was good for a gasoline situation.
anyone know what is good to use that gasoline wont hurt it?
Thanks a bunch

Re: Aluminum Gas tank pick up thread sealer

Well a little more reading and I came up with mention of certain pipe dope and a special permatex sealer.. i have the white brush on stuff with teflon but i dont thinkbthat will do...
My tank is stamped the same year of the boat so based on the assumption my fittings are untouched till now,it looks like th tank manf had some form of plumber pipe thread dope on there...just need to be certain it will stand up to todays gas..
