OK i have a a 16ft alum boat. i want to strip the paint off the hull. it has 1 layer of spray paint and 1 layer of what looks like powder coat. maybe ?don't look like reg paint.should i use a liquid striper sand it or i have a power washer that i can sand water blast. (runs a sand water mix) planning on painting it with etching primer and some kind of car type paint does this sound like it would work? thanks for any help.

Re: aluminum boat stripping

If the paint Isn't Peeling, Just scuff it up,+ Paint it....
I'd be Skeptical about Sand-blasting it....

I used Metal etching primer on the Bare spots of my 21' Starcraft, Then shot it with MSU, from NAPA auto parts.... 4 years,+ No Problems....

The spray paint is flaking of real bad. so you wouldn't blast it. how about liquid stripper or just sanding??? thanks for any help. and have you ever heard of one being powder coated it's a 16ft cherekee deep v 1969 model.
