So I was trying to take the alternator from my 4.3 mercruiser in to get checked and I couldn’t get it all the way off. There was a black box attached to the back of the alternator that had wires that ran into the whole wire harness. Sorry I don’t do electrical work much. Anyway, someone tried to do it before cause I had to drill out a screw. Finally got the alternator off and it smells burnt and sounds like rocks. Lol. Anyway, how do I hook this attached photo back up to a new one?

The box belongs with the alternator. There are bullet connectors that were supposed to be disconnected to remove the alternator, you can see them in your first pic
