alternator vs. stator

hey guys just wondering on my 88 3.7 alpha 1 .not to familiar with a stator opperation what should the charge voltage be ,how to test for voltage.. but am familiar with alts. how hard is it to convert from stator to alt ??and are brackets avaliable or do i have to shade tree them??? thanks guys

Do a search on alternator conversions, plenty of kit available.

And you might want to wait a bit longer than 1 1/2 hours before leaving with a tantrum.
