1. just bougt..lol..typicalhuh...a 1988 bayliner capri open bow with the volvo penta 270 outdrive and the aq125a motor.had it out twice this weekend aaannnnddd...the alternator took a dive. i called around and they said it has the volvo/bmw/italian blah blah motor and the alternator is like $500.oo...they said they have small universal alternators with the 2 hole mounting and the v groove/valaro drive pully thingy but i would have to play around with the sounting to get the belt to line up which i am fully capable of fabrication the proper way but my concern is the current alternator has a battery + wire and a ground wire to the block then there is a resistor wire? they saaid to dissconect the resistor wire wire batt and ground and it will work fine? what do you say befor i go buy and proceed?
2.. the boat after running we would stop and fish move on stop and fish next thing you know the boat will only run at a low rpm any thing else it would bog out and stall..you can hear the carb sucking air like crazy..if i throttle up and back quickly it will go. if i shutt the boat down and pull a bolt that has a orfus on the end out of the side of the carb, the fuel drains out put it back in the boat runs like a champ untill it does it again?? thoughts on that 1..
