Alpha1 Gen2 Quicksilver 3000 throttle won't reverse without turning engine off

When slowing down, and then putting into neutral, the throttle will occasionally get stuck and the only way to release it is to turn the engine off. This seems to reset it so it can be put into reverse.

sounds like the shift interrupt is not kicking in... is the lower shift cable old? if so its more than likely its worn and time for a new cable
