Need help on this shift shaft. i removed the shift shaft out and put new o-ring in without put the gear in a forward position. then when i put everything back i start to put the gear forward and align the shift shaft together. my problem is that now when i start the engine in neutral it ok but when i start to shift to forward / reverse i hear a loud griding noise like it not able to shift to gear. i know i did something wrong but i can't figure out why. Can someone tell me the procedure to put the shift shaft back in it place cause it can go any position.
