Hi all,
I’ve got a leak…. Found a puddle underneath my outdrive looks like it’s leaking (when trimmed up gear oil running down and dripping down the short gear lube hose).

so I’m looking at replacing this hose, can it be done in situ? Any tips much appreciated!!

Also what length size and type of hose is needed, I can’t seem to find it on a parts list.

Many thanks for your help

What year?
The length for the older (beginning) bravo drives was once listed at 9.5 inches but of course measure your old one to be sure and buy a bit longer to ensure you have enough… if you buy it online from a Merc dealer, etc, then I believe you’ll only be able to buy it in bulk but if you walk in a servicing dealer then they may cut to size for you should you want to use the oil hose from Merc vs an auto store.
78M0214996HOSE, (54.00 Inches Bulk) (Cut to 9.5 Inches and 36 Inches)

It can be replaced without a full tear down, you will need a set of fairly long needle nose pliers. You must cut the hose off the plastic fitting on the transom and avoid pulling too hard on the fitting or it will break. I’d recommend using the long needle nose pliers holding a razor blade and slice the hose before pulling on it. I just replaced my hose and bellows. The gear oilhose was 9.5” long in the OEM kit.

Here is what the hose is normally in the OEM kit I believe: Parker PUSH-ON B704 or Dayco Eastman B704 1/4" ID 300 psi. If you have a Parker hose store nearby they can get you the hose for a few bucks.

If the bellows have some age on them consider just replacing bellows and the hose.
