Hello all. I have a somewhat substantial water leak into the bilge from the gimbal housing. Specifically, water is flowing into the boat where the hydraulic lines for the power trim enter the gimbal housing.

I'm at a loss for what could have failed to be causing this leak? It almost seems like one of the idle relief ports is leaking water into the boat.

This video is from inside the boat (on the water), showing where water is entering.

This video is on land, with a garden hose filling up the bilge. Water comes out the starboard exhaust idle relief port.

Boat is a 1988 Wellcraft 170. Mercruiser 3.0 with Alpha 1 gen 1 outdrive.

Leak is coming through lower than where the shift cable passes through the transom. This video is a little more clear. That's the two hydraulic lines right about the leak, and the exhaust pipe right above that.

Ah. Do you have a mercathode system fitted. That looks like it might be where the cables for that go through the transom assembly.

Probably have an exhaust leak and trim line manifold gasket leak

Both easily fixable but the exhaust requires pulling the motor. At that point it'll be wise to repair the most likely rotten transom
