Hello folks. New to this forum but I did a search and can't find the answer to my dilemma. I have a 1996 Crestliner with a 3.0 Mercruiser and Alpha 1 outdrive. I am wondering if there is some adjustment I can make to the turning radius. The boat turns tighter to port than it does to starboard. I appreciate any assistance.

I doubt you can do anything about it. You can disconnect the steering cable and see if the drive moves both directions the same amount, and see if the cable will retract and extend enough to go equal distances both directions. But your boat will turn sharper one way than the other just because of prop rotation direction.

Agreed... prop torque. Turns better/sharper to the left doesn't it???

As bondo said as well. A steering cable with to much play will only exaggerate the effect.

Only thing you can do is to upgrade to a different boat with counter rotating twins or a single duoprop.

On a side note, anomolies in the hull will sometimes lift 1 chine higher than the other, and that will have an effect on steering.
