Hi all

I have a 2009 alpha 1 gen 2 drive that the trim rams have started playing up.
They wont go down with someone standing on them.

I know the problem is the end caps, corrosion etc.....

So my question

Do I buy a rebuild kit? If so, what do I need?
Or is it cheaper/easier just replace them with SEI after market rams? About $200 set.

all help appreciated
phil....

Re: alpha 1 gen 2 trim rams

Usually there is no need to go new, plus you may notice a difference in the look of the aftermarket ram.

The new cap part number you need is mercruiser part number 806191T and if needed, the new seal kit part number is 25-87400A2.

If you don't need the seals now, someday you may, so maybe pick them up now while they are on sale to have on hand if or when you need them.

iboats sells both item plus if you call them to order and tell them your a forum member, you will get an extra 5% off the sale price.
