Apologies in advance if I'm not explaining anything correctly here. I'm a amateur mechanic learning my way through this!
I have a Alpha 1 Gen 2 which started running a "bit rougher than normal" at the end of last season. I immediately turned it around and returned to the launch, but decided to deal with it next season. Now it's next season.
I changed the impeller and a few seals. Replaced the lube and cleaned and replaced the lube in the monitoring cup.
The engine starts up without any major hassles. I can shift and see everything turning properly. The problem is still there with the engine just feeling like it's too loud and running a bit too rough.
Here's what I have noticed. Not sure if it's just me or not:
The water is NOT ejecting from a port on the side of the sterndrive. It is however dumping heavily from an area on the sterndrive between the transom and the drive itself. Water is being ejected from the little area where the speedometer cable gets attached as well.
Is this normal or did I screw something up?
Thanks in advance!
