alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive?

Will any lower unit work with the upper unit if they are the same generation? I have 2.00 ratio and lower unit is busted.

Nope,... There are differences in the Gen.II lowers,...

Don, or somebody will have to fill in the details,...
I don't do much with the Gen.IIs...

The 2.0 and 2.40 ratio lower units have a different tooth count than the other drives.

The only difference i see is the tooth count of the bottom spider gear, will that make that much difference. Wiil that change the spped,rpm,or will it burn out the bearings. Please help.
