Alpha 1 Gen 2 out drive alignment check

5.0 MPI. I pulled the drive at beginning of season last year and used the tool I bought to check alignment. Is that something that should be done every year. I am in NJ and season for me is about 6 months. Thank you. RR

Should be done every time you pull the drive for maintenance. Beats walkin back from a blown coupler out on the lake.

To preserve the life of the coupler and to extend the life of the coupler ,removal of the drive and service is mandatory.
You would never know it was bad untill you pull the drive. Very tight to remove or install is a sign something is wrong.
Stringer rot, collapsed rear mounts, rotted front mounts, etc.

I removed the drive and all was good except there was an exhaust flapper in the drive. Tough to pull out but I got it. RR

Ayuh,.... That says it ran without good water flow atleast once,....

Pull the elbows off, 'n look in the top of the Y-pipe for the rest of the shutter's remains, 'n replace 'em,.....
