sounds like from now on he should anchor bow-out, and tie the stern off to the beach. no more swamping from the stern. thats how I do it, but then again Im deathly afraid of beaching my boat anyways. It is interesting, how they design the stern so open like that...soo many stories of vessels swamping over the stern. I'd be interested to see what they have to say about it.

I have a similar friend; He's worse than a person who doesn't give a d@mn about preventative maintenance ... He doesn't even give a d@mn enough to do the repair once the damage has been done. Instead he just complains about it & drinks beer.

Sounds like my brother.

I hate beaching too, but do it often. I prefer dropping a hook in a cove, and I also don't get any sand in the boat that way. I don't get to make all of the rules though . . . Plus horseshoes have become increasingly popular and we were even playing bocce ball.

This happened in Hamblin Bay near Sandy Cove. Very close to Callville:

My boat is the one to the right of the easy-up, his is just after mine. We were over by the old hard top when she almost sank. That was the day before this pic.

Im relatively new to boating, and something like that never would seemed possible to me. I learn something new every day on this forum. Glad the boat came out ok.

To be fair to Chap guys . . . he never uses the plug for the ice chest  and they do make some awesome boats, and this one is outstanding. This is a significant flaw that is based on customer preference for sure, the biggest problem is honestly the engine hatch. That's where the point of no return comes in

She does everything else very well. Has a 5.7 320 Duo-prop Volvo. Did 54ish on her Maiden Voyage and runs 48+ loaded up now. Very roomy, plush but also notyhing over the top. Excellent quality hardware, close to a Cobalt without the last finer touches that you will see on those. And I've seen her at 35+ MPH in some very nasty 50 mph gusting crosswinds, BIG wind chop/swells. Weather anyone would be be afraid to boat in and she keeps that guy safe.

He attracts this kind of problem for sure. Wait until you see my next thread about this poor guy and this weekend . . .

ohhhh...okay. those are the coves that I dont ever go in lol. Bocce ball is alot of fun though, i almost brought my set with last trip. I look for the quiet coves with no one around, but we have small kids running around also.

Me either . . . the guy in the third boat always goes there. We tried to talk him out of it and it turned out to be OK . . . The north side makes no sense to me in a blow and look at the white caps out on the Lake.

Well I still see two boats managed to anchor stern in. ;) Nice pictures by the way.

Chaps not the only one with coolers back there. My cousin has a Campion Allante 705 with two of them. Come to think of it I'll tell him to make sure the plugs are in.

Chaps just needs to install a seal around the engine hatch. Regal did it with their rear opening engine hatch...

I'm sure I'm missing something, but why not drain the swim platform ice chest through the bottom of the swim platform instead of into the boat?
