KIZ,<br /><br />You are correct about the concerns I have about my friend. However, there is one major caveat: he "believes" these pills work!!! He has his own data, which I believe to be totally placebo effect. These people all think their cars are running better. I tried to explain to them that to achieve 20% better fuel efficiency the engine would also have to make 20% more power from the same volume of fuel . . . And they all nodded up and down and said "yeah, it is running better". I said to them that when I was a kid I swore my car ran better after it was washed. There is no technical explanation for this, so IMHO that too is placebo effect.<br /><br />Amazing stuff to me. I think there is a PhD dissertation within all of this . . .

Judging from the tremendous volumes of intestinal gas---methane---that results when I eat just a few ounces of brocolli or some other vegetable, why couldn't a few little pills improve the fuel economy of my car?

Yes, DR. I was sitting there thinking, "ya know, by the way these guys are jumping in, this is cake". They will get their money back minimum. This scam officially started in December, so they still may hit the exponential growth guaranteed at the beginning of what they now call "Network Marketing". And they are OK in their hearts right now, because they think I am nothing but a sceptic and they have "proven" results of their own.<br /><br />There was a slide that showed the two highest levels attainable. Second from the highest gets 2% of the entire company's wholesale sales and the highest level is guaranteed 3% of wholesale sales. It only takes 10 of each to wipe out 50% of their proceeds if I am doing the math right and of course 20 of each and there is nothing left

A kid I went to school with got suckered into one of these scams-one of the cleaning product pyramid schemes.<br /><br />We cured him by locking him in the trunk of his saloon car with a girl for 4 hours. <br /><br />He still had a dazed grin 4 hours later.

QC<br />Try going to one of those get rich quick deals in real estate some time. No money down. You know the guys on late night TV<br />Many years ago we were planning on going up to Seattle just to goof around for a day at Pikes Place Market and the Wood Boat Center.<br /><br />Well they were running adds that if you just showed up and took the free seminar you got to keep these real cool gifts.<br />So I called the 1-800 number and got our passes.<br /><br />Signed in at 7am Saturday morning <br />Slipped out at the first break.<br />Did our thing and signed back in after the last break. We had the scedule with us. <br /><br />The couple beside us said that at the lunch break the TV guy came out and signed about ten or so people at 499.99<br /><br />At the end he came out I/we watched him clear with his closing over $20,000 at $499.99 a pop!<br />So his take for the day was somewhere between $25 to $35,000for one DAY!<br /><br />Not a bad day for him LOL!<br /><br />BTW I don't consider him a rip off.<br /> <br />He just knows that most people don't know how to buy a house with nothing down and for them it is worth the $500 bucks. (for a house to live in)<br /><br />We took our free gifts and went home.

I read a report from Popular Mechanics that tested those pills, and the little tornado intake device, along with a few other mileage enhancing products. Their result was: most do nothing, some hurt mileage.<br /><br />Maybe search their site for the article, it was worth reading.
