Lol. Definitely feeling good about yesterday's boat race...seems as though the small bodies of water contain more volume when combined. Who would of thunk that many people would get in the boat and create a wake large enough to roll a ship. Stunning.

The first mate(s) of the ship had us all believing that the Captain's replacement had been decided, the crew didn't believe them and showed up by the masses.......... Even the cook........

So the ships crew has spoken. They were tired of hearing the S.O.S. and responded. Now back to manning the sails and plotting the course.:lol::lol:

Very classy speech by the loser of the regatta.Though I did not have a boat in the regatta im happy with the outcome and hope ship building takes off as a strong and vibrant industry.Heres hoping in 3 years us up here can rebuild our shipping industry.God bless and good luck my American friends.

I guess all us " Dumb Rural Americans " have a voice after all!

I'm glad it's over. Now like sphelps said lets get back to work!

funny you should say that. I am one of them dumb rurals as well. I have never had to wait in line to go boating before. yesterday I waited in line just over an hour to go boating. seems a lot of pickup trucks were filling the lot of the "lake".

really funny considering they give us a one lane 1/4 mile boatramp to get to the place (as it never gets crowded)

I slept for only 1-1/2 hrs this morning before heading to class. Love a good boat race!!! My students may of suffered a bit from my exhaustion, but they'll be gone within 4 years and the next yacht race.

A new course has been charted to get us to the place that we all want to be. . . with any change in course, about half of us are happy about the new bearing and about half of us think we should be on a different heading. We all hope to that same place safely. Happy boating everybody :D

Maybe the other boat had a weaky-leak!
Many boats can operate with a small leak....... You just have to have rags ready to sop up the water!

I am thinking the other boat sank because the leaks were more than even buckets and bilge pumps could overcome.

Plus, it began to rain towards the end!!:rain::rain::rain::rain::rain:

Sadly, my previous 1966 MarkTwain sank in an American Lake, Wa marina during a thunderstorm!

Nah, I sold that boat about 5 years previous. I actually told the guy that I would buy it back if he wanted to sell it in the future!

Funny thing was, he NEVER re-licensed it! The marina on American Lake at the time was part of Ft Lewis, Wa. I was called by the Ft Lewis Military Police that the boat was considered "abandoned", sank, come, get it out of the water and asked if I going to be the person that would pay the $3000 odd dollars for the "cleanup"!!

Lucky for me that I did report it sold to the State of Ca. The buyer never registered it and it changed hands 3 times after I sold it!!
