Might try bumping the starter and retry to remove.

Did it take much force to insert?
Should always use 2 fingers, if it takes more then that to go in, stop and remove

It went in pretty easy . Definitely didn't have to fight it in. I haven't re installed all my wiring yet

im betting its suction holding it in with the grease..... My tool has provisions for a screw in eye in the end of the tool.... perhaps yours has the same.

Did you make an adjustment to a mount with the tool inside ?? That will often pinch them in place.

Can tie a rope (chain is better) to the bar and tie other end to something a bit heavy like a sledge hammer. Now pull it quick away from bar. You made a slide hammer puller

Did the drive come off very easily? did you replace the gimbal gearing?
try tapping the tool end in all directions ,then pull
When removed drill a hole in the end or drill and tap for a eye bolt

You could try but the problem is you don't know which way is correct

Slide hammer works better with a chain but its getting the chain to hold

The drive came off easy and I didn't change bearing. What did change and I should have mentioned is the transom has been rebuilt. I'm guessing the holes are off a tad. Can't be much though or it wouldn't have slid in relatively easy. I'll weld

Can you drill & tap a threaded hole for a 1/4" or 5/16" eye bolt That will help to yank very straight.
Do you have Rubber or plastic gloves ? Yes Put them on. Then TWIST and PULL at the same time. A drop of oil right where the friction fit in the transom is. Will help reduce the " PINCHING FRICTION by the transom.
