align twin outdrives, volvo penta aq270+,

Anybody know how to align the outdrives on a boat with 2 outdrives, eyeball?, square to transom, ?,
SunRunner 310, twin AQ 270+, mines ok, but must be someway to check and square ? thanks

understand the alignment process with twin drives....but shouldn't there be a starting point for one of the drives?...anotherwords...the drives squareness to the transom?....or is it just a matter of having the same mesurement at the screwholes and the transom?...

You should start your own thread.That way everyone can see it.
Include the unit's your working on.Model and serial #s help too.
Unhook the steering linkage inside the boat.
I start with the drives both straight on the outside.You eye can pretty much tell if they are straight.
Then a tape.I use a folding carpenters rule.
Measure the center of the drive on the outside.
Then inside the steering arm should be at 90d just like the outside.
Measure it to make sure.
Then adjust the drives OUTSIDE tow-in 1 inch.
Then hook up the linkage.
There should be a trim fin/snout on the drive.I believe they need to be straight.
