have a knocking while turning when docking or pick up skier. I replaced one u joint when I replaced the motor. The front joint would hardly move thats the one I replaced. I did not do the other because it moved easy and smooth. Should I replace the other or replace the whole shaft? It looks like the u joint press might not have enough clearance without removing the lock ring.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,...
They're most generally changed as a set....
You're 1/2 way done...

If you're careful, the big nut can be trimmed with a grinder to change that joint...
