I have a 1994 Mercy 150 XRI everything was fine when I parked it last fall. Put muf on it an turned the key and besides the normal 2 beeps now either the overheating or the low oil buzzer are going off . What could have happened.

Might just be one of the switches bent bad, happens quite often.
With it running pull the lead off to see if alarm stops, or pull the switches and test them

What's your serial number, so it can be looked up?

I'm not a expert on OB, but all alarms work off a ground. Look for a Tan/Blue stripe wire. This wire applies a ground which turns the alarm on. Disconnecting the connection will stop alarm unless the wire itself is chuffed and grounding

Took the brown& blue wire from the temperature to a main contact center check the wire from the oil cap to the same contact center everything looked good unhooked them an still going off.so put everything back like it was.could it be at the gear shift.

do you get tha "self test beeps when key is turned on? is it a solid beep or an oscillating beep? does it come on immediately when key is turned on? if it does and its a solid beep then its one of two things.. over temp sensor either bad or circuit is grounded somewhere (not very common) or tha oiler warnin' module is bad.. disconnect tha purple goin' to tha module.. test.

normally if you get a solid beep when key is turned on its gonna be a bad module............. any signal comin' outta tha module is gonna oscillate.. thats tha only job of tha module.. over temp sensor and circuit rarely go bad.......
