Hello folks...I have a 93 Yamaha 200 o/b, a 2-stroke...when turning the key and engaging the batteries, a warning alarm sounds. It is a steady alarm. The only time i have heard it before in 7yrs of owning the boat was once or twice when it was overheating after several hours of operation or when the safety cord was not clipped in place. The clip is in fact in place and the alarm sounds immediately when the key is turned on even when sitting on the trailer so its not overheating. In the water it also sounds...the engine is pumping out its normal stream of water and the intake does not appear to be clogged. I had the annual service done in RI and then towed it to Florida and that is when the issue began. Any thoughts?

Thank you in advance!

Re: alarm sounding

If I am understanding you corectly. You start your engine in the water and your warning buzzer immediately comes on and STAYS on. If so maybe look for loose connection at your temp switches? Maybe you just have an issue. temp switches, oil level switch?

Re: alarm sounding

It should be pink wires for the temp switches, try unhooking them first..one at a time, they malfunction more often than oil sender. Good Luck.
