I have a 1998 mercury big foot, the alarm will go off, after running a while. (all though sometimes doesn't go off at all) usually it happens after running 15-20 at slow to medium speed then idling down. (alarms when idle down) other then the alarm the motor is running really well. I've check to make sure steady stream, and checked oil level. both are fine, although the oil level is just a bit high. (about 1/16th inch above max line). I don't know what else to check. could the high oil cause it? or could it be faulty sensors?(is there a way to check them)
Like I said it doesn't always go off, and if it does if I stop the moter and restart the alarm stops (sometimes for the rest of the day, sometimes only for a minute or so)
