Hey Guys, The other day I ran into a decent size whitecap (decent by Harlan County, NE standards) and lost power to the boat. Upon further inspection I noticed a whire shook loose from a heat shrink butt end connector from the ignition to the throttle body housing. My guess is the kill switch or the run/off switch on the throttle housing. In the interest of getting back to shore I re-established the connection with some simple electrical tape. The boat runs fine, all guages read normal, all lubricant levels are checking out normal. But the damn alarm sounds, the alarm that normally shuts off after ignition. It will intermittently buzz, sometimes continuously until I get the boat running at speed and plain out. My guess is the crappy connection via electrical tape. Is there any validity to this or could something else be wrong? This is the first time the boat has given me fits and it's driving me nuts!
Boat is a 1996 19'6" Monterey Montura Dino, 5.7 Merc with an Alpha One out. The boat is always serviced at the end and begining of each season by the pros.
Thanks for your time,
Dan
