age please yam 40 3 cylnder help me find parts

Please could you age my 2 Stroke Yamaha, electric start, 40HP, 3 Cyl, blue, serial no: 40HE BH4 L 353074.

Runs very sweet, but I'm a little worried about sourcing spares in the future.

It is very easy for us to determine the age of a US or Canadian Yamaha outboard. You need to understand that the US and Canadian models are different and have different model numbers than the rest of the world. You also need to know that the first Yamaha branded motors sold by Yamaha in the US were 1984 models. Call up or send an e-mail to Yamaha customer service in the UK. I am sure they can help you. In the US it is very easy to get Yamaha parts even for the oldest motors.
