Aftermarket tilt and trim on pontoon

I am considering an aftermarket power tilt and trim unit on a 94 pontoon with a 25 hp Johnson, I am looking at the CMC PT 35, but I have read a review indicating not using on a pontoon boat due to bending steering components. I would guess if this is a realistic concern, the Panther would be susceptible to the same condition. Both companies offer a unit designed for the late 80's through early 00's Johnsons that were not offered with TnT.

Has anyone installed one of these units on their pontoon with the smaller J motors? I would be curious with the issues and possible remedies for installing a TnT.

Thanks.

I have a 50hp Johnson on a '95 Sweetwater that I installed the CMC PT130 on. No problems works great. I did have to move the bracket for the steering back to allow for the sit back. If you can manually tilt your motor without binding you should be OK there. Then just check if your steering will let you move it back 5 1/2".
