Re: Advice on mooring

Hi mabbott,

Thanks for that info - that is actually very helpful. I don't have any friends with boats, so I literally am learning everything as I go and on my own. I don't have anyone to show me the way, so that kind of step-by-step advice is actually quite valuable.

I am not on the true "Cape" of Cape Cod. I too am on the Buzzards Bay side - out of Wareham. Not too many people know Wareham, so it just easier to say "Cape Cod".

Thanks again for the tips!

Re: Advice on mooring

Does that marina offer dry storage?. Even out in the rain (plug removed, its only fresh water). My berth is dry and its cheaper than a swing mooring. I call them 1 hour before I arrive and its in the water fueled, iced, baited, and warmed up. On retrieval they wash it down. The only thing they dont do is clean the fish. If I want to take the boat to a different area I just turn up and hook up the trailer (security check first). IMHO 19ft is easy to handle and not worth the dramas of wet storage.
