I have a 24' Fisher (25" tubes) with a 3.0/alpha gen II. Can anybody tell what the engine/outdrive combo might weigh pulleys to prop? Thinking of converting to an outboard on a setback bracket maybe and need to figure out what weight motor it could handle. Also what king of price should I expect to sell the combo for? reman engine with only 17hrs and freshwater only outdrive.

have you tried google on the weight?

you know that load paths are different between I/O's and outboard right? vs a setback bracket, you should look to replace your center tube with one designed for an outboard.

you can get 3 liters and drives in rotted out bayliners for dirt cheap if you are willing to cut up the hull and dispose of it. you wont get anywhere near what you have in the motor if you just paid for a reman

Google comes up with 645lbs but I can't determine if that's engine only or the assy. I wouldn't think a 3.0 alone weighs that much. How much outboard (4 stroke) HP would be about equal to the 135 I/O?

the 3.0 base engine is 365#
after all the other marine bits are added its about 480 for the bobtail
the transom plate, gimbal housing and cylinders are about 80#
the outdrive is about 75#

you cant compare weight alone, you have to compare loading
