I use the screens on a stick. But for the walls, multiple thin skim coats, then come back with damp towel

Big issue in small town is no one knows what Kerdi board is, so its an hour drive to get more. Over time I have gotten pretty good at mudding, but to old to hold a sheet up. Have a drywall screw gun but have yet to get the hang of it. Mine is the first Gen and not the one using screw strips
when I rock a bathroom, I put a couple screws in the wall next to where the piece will be on the ceiling about 3/4" down from the ceiling joists to catch one side of the sheet, then use a "t" made of 2x4. the t should be long enough to brace the sheet tight to the ceiling. set the sheet on the screws, lift the sheet up to the ceiling, with your third arm grab the t and jamb it in under the sheet. I rarely have full sheets in a bathroom. easy-peasy

Need one more 4' x 32" board and some more screws and washers to finish. Then will start laying in the panels
