Yeah, lets here what you want to do with the boat. Just fishing, that's one kind of boat. Sking and tubing, that's another. Both again could be another. I take my 15ft skiff out on very busy lakes with no problem all the time. I don't think size should be too much of your issue with such a small primary lake. If I were you I would look into a 15,16ft aluminium fish and ski. Like tracker or lowe. Something with 50/60 hp. pull a small kid on a tube and serve very well for a fishing barge. Also would be heck of a lot better on gas than a 4.3 stern drive. just my 2 cents

Main purpose of boat is just to have fun and joyride. People would be maybe 4-5, maybe less. Anyway i'll fill you all in with my boat obsession and what led to buying one. Past few years I went with a few buddies(4 or 5) and we all piled up on his old '68 sea ray sundancer 20'. Shoot up to lake Geneva Friday after work, stay on the boat all weekend and trailer up sunday and head home; I know it sounds red neck yes; but it was a blast! Last year the boats transom rotted out and that games over, he has another Larson but it's only 17' and would be a bit crammed; so I decided I'd like to buy a boat of my own! I was thinking 18'-20' because i'll be trailering all the time and have limited drive way space. Prefer the fiberglass v hull construction. Also I liked the open deck layout (not the huge sun-pad that takes away a good 3'-4' at the back of the boat) because we have coolers and such that will also take up floor space. They did, but i don't plan on doing any water sports behind the boat, unless somebody else wants to buy the equipment...i'll hook em up!

I think you have a very good idea as to what you want and need. Sad part is this is the beginning og the season and everyones prices have skyrocketed! Lood luck in your quest for a nice weekender! And watch out for all the weekend warriors that show up on Geneva all summer, some are actually dangerous to themselves and everyone around them!
