What is the proper way to hook up the fuel line of the kicker to the main fuel line when adding a kicker engine. Main engine is a 200 Black Max and the kicker will be a 15 HP Force. I want to tie into the main fuel line. 90 gal fuel tank.

Thanks,

Mike

you can put a 'T' in the line, and the primer bulbs for both engine, between the 'T' and the engine. Although, it is not advisable to run both engine off the same fuel source. if you want to use the kicker, also as and emergency motor. as contaminated fuel is a lot of the cause of main engine failure, and the kicker is on the same contaminated fuel.

The only reason to put a "tee" in the fuel line is to use the same fuel tank, but that "tee" has to be a valve; otherwise it can lose its vacuum. If you have above deck tanks, using one for each motor is advisable for a host of reasons: 1- as TD cited, 2- not losing the prime on the main motor, 3-ability to have both motors running at the same time (rough water), and most motors and duration of the trip will use more than a 6 gal tank anyway.

Below deck large tank is another story, hence the split line and a directional valve.

MMMM...... good thoughts.
The 90 gallons is below deck. 21 ft Renken.
Odds of running both at same time. About zero.
"T" and check valve, best idea.
I was thinking maybe two independant valves, on or off as needed. No change to loose prime or loose vacuum.
Contaminated fuel is a possibility, but would be rare, as we use the same station to fill truck and the boat.

Thanks for the tips.
