Hello,
I just painted some graphics on my boat with 100% acrylic artist paints. What can I use to protect the graphics as a clear coat. I need something that has some uv protection. The acylics are water based. One was painted over "scuffed" 2 part polyurethane clear finsih and the other was painted over a 100 % acrylic semi gloss enamel, again water based. I also scuffed the enamel before I painted the graphics.

All the best,
Steve Gill

Re: acrylic graphics

I finished an aluminum boat and used a one-part epoxy clearcoat. It came out really shiny and pretty tough. No matter what you use, it's going to scratch it if you have a direct hit against something, but that should give it good protection from the water, at least.
