Hi.

I have a 1988 Conquest 17' Runabout with a 1988 80 HP Mercury Outboard.

On the dash, there is a fused switch that says ACC. Power comes into the fuxe, then through the switch and the switched power is a purple wire that in bundles with other wires going along the side to the transom. I can't tell where it comes out. I am assuming this is ACCESSORY by then why go back to the motor? What is this for?

Thanks!
Scott

It's just an empty ACCessory switch installed by the manufacturer that you can hook something to.

I hear you but wouldn't the wire just be capped at the dash? Why would they send it all the way back to the motor?

It is a 23 year old boat, who know what a previous owner did with the wiring, they can get pretty creative sometimes, possibly a stock wire harness and that wire is just there but not used, you almost need to follow it all the way back and see what it is hooked to to know.
