I bought a 1990 evenrude 150.
I got the motor running,
Im checking everything out,
Running, I get 9.0 volts ac on ( y1, ) and 2.4 volts ac on( y2 )
Together I get 25 volts ac
I have 3 Stater plates to compare against each other for resistance,
One on a running motor, one is extra parts and the 3 is a new one for my mower.
They all comes between 6.3 and 7.5
I don't know how acute this Meyer is. But I get typical reading.
I'm not getting DC voltage, but it produces enough voltage to run with battery disconnect.
I think the Stater is going out. But I would like a second opinion
All test are at 1000 rpm.
I have a foot pedal, so I can't raise rpms and test at the same time.
I'm look for options before I start buying parts I don't need.
Thanks.

Experts will come along but running without the battery connected ruins the rectifier.....so I'm told.

Your outboard doesn't need a battery to run though and the charge coil and the ignition stuff are totally separate.

25VAC from stator is about right. You clip off top of sine wave and 12.5DC is output on red wire from rectifier.

Make sure the purple wire at rectifier has 12v with key on or rectifier will not turn on
