I Cut A Pretty Good Size Squear Out Of The Floor To Get An Idea Of What Was Underneath And It Looks Like It IS Filled With foam Only Can That B And If So Do I Need To Split The Boat To Fix Right The Only Week Spot Is Right In the Middle Both ends r Solid It Is A 1978 Gator Bass Boat it is 18ft Long I want to do it right so any help would B app the week spot is roughly 6ft by 4ft

best place on the net for boating.


under the foam is stringers.....

do a search here called "core sample" you will need to see if the foam is wet....(i know it does not look like it form the top side....but the water is down close to the hull)

you also have to see if the stringers are rotten.......so you have to do a little more digging. unfortunately....boats rot from the bottom up.....so you have to search several places right close to the hull.

but if all is well.....you can just replace that piece of plywood and glass it into place.
