The transom on my Glasspar looks as though someone has cut it down to be a little lower. I only noticed this after bringing over my friends Tacoma, to see if the motor would work bettter on it. Right where the motor sits it is lower by about 4 inches than the tacoma, and there are cut marks on the sides. Was this to allow the prop to sit all the way in the water? Now I am wondering if the motor will fit on the tacoma at all. How deep in the water should the prop sit?

The Cav.Plate should be level with or slightly Higher than the bottom of the Boat.....

Motors come as 15", 20",+ 25".......

My WAGuess is, your motor is a 20",+ your boat Was a 25"......
