Many thanks for all the information regarding the symptoms of a bad rectifier. I repaired my 1995 150 Evinrude today with the CDI Regulated rectifier with 100% SUCCESS. Thanks F_R and Joe Reeves, along with all the others across multiple threads. It no longer draws an amp with the motor cable hooked up, and charges 14.4 @1800 RPM. Could not be happier. It has been draining the battery for the last 3 years. I just put a battery switch in instead of doing the proper repair as I wasn't sure what was going on.
After reading symptoms of problems with other members motors, it was clear.
