Re: A music CD question-Somewhat success

Scoop, I will round up my copy of Nero and load it on my new computer. My problem has been that all attempts have apparently not written anything to the CD-R. Both Windows XP program and Winamp. It goes thru the motions, takes about 20 minutes (way to long) gives no error messages then when 'done' there is nothing on the new CD-R

Boomyal, that does wound weird. It may be something wrong with your burner. After the disk is burned, what happens if you try to burn the same disk? Does the burner program come back and say that the disk has data and should insert a blank disk? Try it with Nero. If it does not want you to put a new disk in, then there probably a problem with your drive. Make sure you do not select mutli-session. Click the box that say no further writing possible.

Re: A music CD question-Somewhat success

Well all, I finally loaded Nero Burning Rom and after 2 previous ruined CD-R's I finally copied my Son's memorial CD. But....

...something is still really goofy. After going through the process Nero gave me a SCSI failure and abort message and my computer locked up so tight I had to shut it off to get the CD out of the drive. During the burn process the mouse would alternately freeze up and then release and I never had any lights blinking in the recording drive. I was very surprised when I checked the cd in windows explorer and saw that there was a track recorded on it. I also gave Nero a name to be included on the CD and it just retained the 'unknown' title of the master cd.

I don't know what is going on. I guess I'll just have to write it off as one on the many computer moments.

Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I'm going to go see if it will play in a regular CD player now.
