Just bought me a powerdrive 50 pound. Got a few questions. First of all, I don't have a manual and MK has yet to send me info. (I emailed them Tuesday evening, still no response, I think I might have misspelled the email addy. They are usually better than this.)
The wiring harness leading out of the mount for power (not foot control), was covered in electrical tape. On pulling it off, I found the two wires were separated by this little rubber device about 6 inches from the plug. 2 feet from the motor. This little rubber thing is 1 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inches wide. It has a hole through the center and says "Motor - Guide Patent pend." What is this and what does it do? EDIT: Upon ripping off more tape, I found that there was tape covering up where the wires were twisted together with those of the aftermarket plug. The block was in between the taped up twists and had tape over the whole bundle.
Secondly, what size fuse am I gonna need for this? 30amp, 40amp?
I may be back with more questions here in a while. I have a fishing trip this weekend and really want to have this, and dad says we have no time to install this until next week, so I am trying to change his mind by getting all the homework done so we just have to make a bracket for it. Then, I will start measuring for the bracket so all he has to do is supervise the aluminum cutting and bolting. Maybe if I get all the work done we will have time. He needs a better job.
