Re: A few questions about my 68' starcraft

Welcome to the Starcraft club Pete:)

Do you have a carpeted deck? If so then you probably have moisture in the carpet, plywood, and foam. Have you taken any core samples to see what you are dealing with? The transom wood could be holding moisture as well which would really push down on the stern.

Most of us starcrafters tear out the factory deck and replace it with epoxied ply covered in vinyl so it doesn't take on water ever again.

Nice-looking rig there...I like the aftermarket windshield(the Ezmobee patented mod).:D

Hey H.A. thanks for the welcome just looking at it the floor looks original (besides the nasty Green carpet) in the rear I can see they slapped the carpet right over the old vinyl so when replacing the floor is 3/4'' treated plywood to heavy is that epoxy a paint or resin is a rod locker a bad ideal i have see many other boats with a ski locker the floor gets soft there first? thanks

Don't use PT in an aluminum boat! The new stuff eats aluminum. I went with 3/4" on mine. I like how solid it is.
