I met this guy Ken at our local town park that was homeless.

He told me the whole story of his life and I got water in my eyes.

He told me that nobody would hire him because of the way he was..

Stinky and really bad BO.

I took him to my home got him cleaned up & washed his cloths.

Now here is where the plot thickens !!

I told to my other friends about this guy.

He said that he was a Chef before his downfall of losing everything.

Well my friend JR that owns a restaurant asked me to bring Ken there.

JR said if he can do what he said he can.... I'll give him a job.

I dropped Ken off there at 5:30am and went there for lunch and...

Guess who was still there yep Ken was. :)

Now he needs a place to live ?? OK I got that covered

I bought him a 1985 28ft camper and my other friend Phil that owns a trailer park.

Set him up with a place to put it for 1 year rent free. :)

Now my other friend Tom who owns a car dealership gave Ken a 1996 ford.

So he could get to his job.

Ken has paid us all back for what we did for him plus he's got !!

2.000 bucks in his savings account. :)

I feel really GREAT about our investment in a Vet. :)

Re: A feel good story, Vietnam Vet

It is always good to hear of a good deed done for a veteran (I'm one myself). Many are just down on hard times and are willing to do just about anything to get back on top things again. Myself, I lost my house due to a divorce, my uncle let me rent his house for a year and that went south. barely got by on a small apartment for four years. My son (now 21) got in trouble and spent a year and a half in a detention center. He got out last March, worked his butt off, paid his fines and now on non report. Last December we were able to move into a NICE three bdrm house, on a river with more than enough room for the two of us. My son is one special person to help his old man out and agree to help pay for everything. He makes at his job, property management for cabin rental company, at least twice what I make at my job, and we both live comfortable now.

Well done SF. I'm absolutely convinced the meaning of life is relationships. You took a risk, and your friends made one of the best and most important types of investment. ;)

Re: A feel good story, Vietnam Vet

Heres another story that happened to me today.

I was filling up my car and a guy came up and asked me for 50 cents.

I said why in the heck do you want 50 cents for ??.

He said he wanted to buy a hotdog at the store because he's hungry.

So I'm trying help Pat thats down on his luck also.

If I keep this up . I won't have any friends left to ask favors.

Is it really that tough out there to make a living or to get a job ??

I'm a retired truck driver at 54yrs old. :).

What the heck happened to saving some money for the future. ??.

PS, Bob you have a great one also. :)

I think Incoop just might be celebrating the 4th of July right now and probably shouldn't be using any electronic devices.:D:facepalm:

Sorry man, I'm going to have to disagree with you. Most people would have steered a wide berth around Ken and Pat to avoid any contact with them, much less engage and help them. Hat's off to you.
