I found this today in one of my customers back yards. The nice lady said it belonged to her late son and that her grandson had tried to sell it a couple of years ago. They had one person who came and looked at it and said they would take it. That person never came back.
It has been sitting out in the elements for several years, and has become some what of a trash bin for discarded items. The nice lady said she knew she would probably have to pay someone to haul it off, and has no idea how to go about it.
A little info on boat. Totally roached deck, stringers, transom, and bulkhead. Trailer tires are dry rotted and will not hold air. Rims and trailer frame are questionable as well. No motor or controls. Gel coat on cap is faded but not chalky. Tennessee is a bill of sale state so no title to worry about.
I told the nice lady I would do some digging and see if I found any value in the trailer. I was honest and told her the boat hull had nice lines, but that old hulls needing restoration were not good sellers. I told her I could see potential in her, but that my wife would probably kill me if I drug a project like this home when we already have one in the garage in the early stages of restoration. She said she was pretty much willing to give it away at this point just to get it out of the yard.
She may have been telling me all these nice things because I had just fixed her A/C and it was 92 here this afternoon.
Here she is.:behindsofa:.
It's bad I know.:hopelessness: So is my desire to take something ugly and make it beautiful again.
I'm serious I think the Admiral would kill me if I drag it home.:rip:
I think the MBS may win out this time.:twitch: If this were a Starcraft it would already be sitting in my yard. That may be my only saving grace at this point. It being a fiberglass boat versus a tin one.
I may still go get it.
Holly crap I need an intervention.:faint2:
