Re: A day to celebrate.........

now ee your acting just like the media. stating things that you have absolutly no proof of. more hearsay. right now i dont think even farve knows what he is going to do. i am sure part of his decision will be who thompson hires as a coach. as far as selling his house he has been trying to do that for a few years. even before any talk of his retiring. if i was him i would retire. it will be very hard to rebuild a winning team in the next couple of years and it would be a shame if he got hurt. i think he should he should get out while the getting is good. i will admit i would to watch another couple years of him tho. what ever his decision i wish him the very the best. as far as sherman i bet he is pouting all the way to bank. i say one sherman down one thompson to go.

not sure who the next coach should be. my personal feelings would be either Childress or maybe moving up bates. please dont even consider any of the ones who have been fired. like i said before tho i still am not convinced that thompson is the right man in that position either. but i guess we are stuck with him for awhile.

The ony mistake Thompson has made in my opinion is not keeping one of the two gaurds.......

Don't forget, it is Thompson's off season that has now given us A LOT of money to spend, and has put us WAY under the cap.

The lack of depth, and most of the players we have are Shermans GM mistakes. The guys we have from Thompson's draft : Nick Collins (who is very promising and will be better than Sharper ever was in 2 yrs IMHO, Brady Poppinga (fairy promising linebacker, GREAT special teams guy), Aaron Rodgers (A steal at where we got him)

Mr Sanders is my most glaring example of why sherman had to go.

More important than the new coach, who do they draft with the 5th pick?

DeAngelo Williams maybe.......he has pretty decent numbers.

OR

Mario Williams......who would be an asset to the defense.

Question is whether or not they want to address Offense or Defense, and whether or not they want to keep Ahman. Personaly I think they should offer Ahman Green the league minimum, if he takes it fine, if not, we need to get someone else. I dont think Gado is the answer.

Re: A day to celebrate.........

your right pony i agree thompson had a pretty good draft. i guess what sticks in my mind the most is signing a guy a garaunteed 6.4 million dollar contract in august and firing same guy in january. i understand the attempt at giving sherman a vote of confidence but i still think 6.4 million is alot of mistake. like i said i am not convinced he the right guy. i am not convinced he isnt either. i guess time will tell.
as far green and gado go i believe there has tobe something better than either one. both can run but can you rely on them? i cringe everytime green has the ball. and was starting to feel the same way about gado.

DaBrickshaw Ferguson looks like a winner and could possibly protect Farve if he wanted to return. And that Mario Williams looks like a sure fire starter and impact player. I hope we don't take a punter.

Gado is a great story and a marginal back at best. Green is a great runner and reciever, a little stickum might help.

Re: A day to celebrate.........

In all reality I honestly feel the 4-12 record did cost Sherman his job......problem is as a GM you can't really afford to open up that can of worms.

Green prolly is the better options at RB, between him and Gado, but when he was in there and healthy he didnt do much. How much of that is the o-line, I am not sure. Gado ran well, but I still feel is a bonifide #2 back......not sure if he can be the workhorse. Like I said, I wouldn't mind seeing a Williams and maybe a Davenport backfield. Williams hands might be a negative.

As far as coaches, Bates is such a great coordinator.........I have this feeling we will hire Childress. Give the defense anothe year to buy into Bates' system and allow him to groom some guys into key positions.
