Have a '99 Johnson 9.9 hp with the pull start locked-out in neutral - will turnover in reverse.<br />something seems to have slipped in the upper unit but can't locate it. suggestions?
There is a linkage between the shift linkage and the starter lock, Channelcat. It should allow starting only in Neutral.<br /><br />It seems to have slipped or broken.<br /><br />If all else fails, try a Repair Manual.<br /><br />Good luck.
