Had difficulty shifting into reverse. Now having the same issue going forward. Gets worse as the engine warms up. There is no gear griding sound, just resistance at the control box.
I removed and checked control cables. Good movement, no resistance. Removed plastic linkage to shift shaft arm and movement in cables is still OK. Shift shaft arm is causing the problem. Could this be a simple lube issue, or something going wrong in the lower unit?
