I AM LOOKING FOR A ECU FOR A 99 FICHT ENGINE DEALER SAID ITS NOT FIRING ON #1 AND WANTS WAY TOO MUCH, ANY HELP

You want to be really careful when attempting to mix/match ecu's on 1999 Evinrudes. There were 2 different types of fuel injectors that year (compensated and non-compensated). For example: IF you have non-compensated injectors in your engine and were to swap in an ECU that is programmed for compensated injectors, you could damage the powerhead. You could also cause damage to the powerhead if you got an ecu programmed for a different hp than you have.<br /><br />Have you contacted dfi technologies regarding a repair or replacement for your ecu?? THANKS JOHN FOR THE INPUT, I DID TALK TO DFI BUT ERIC WAS NOT IN AND HE IS THE GUY I NEED TO TALK TO HE'S GOING TO CALL TOMARROW, DIDNT KNOW THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE IN THE ECU'S SO THANKS, ANY MORE INFORMATION WOULD BE HELPFULL THANKS
