I bought the boat in the spring . I have to spray starter fluid in the carb to get it to start of I don't use it more then once a week. But now it won't start . I spray , it ants to start but stops . I'm thinking maybe it's a fuel system problem . But I'm not sure where to start . Could it also be the carburetor?

Need to start with the basics
Check for spark with a spark gap tester
If you have spark, check for fuel

Not knowing which GL it has I don't know which distributor it has

Are you setting the choke before trying to start?

You should never need starting fluid even without a choke in Wisconsin in January when it's -30

List your cold-start steps. Be specific

Do you see a stream of gas spraying when you have motor off, spark arrestor removed and looking down the carb throat when you give it throttle?
