98 Merc. 150 trim by-pass too tight

Tried to open bypass plug, but I feel the head will tear if I apply any more pressure. Afraid to drill it out, but I need to replace trim motor. Can't move it from where it's parked, with motor down. Any ideas or tricks?

Can you unbolt the bottom of the PTT unit from the transom bracket? You may need to remove one side of the transom bracket to get to the motor.
