I have a 92 Johnson 115 that does the same thing (air). If it sits longer than 3 weeks or so, I have found that its easier to disconnect the fuel line at the quick-connect, then depress the check value, pump the bulb, and after about 10-15 pumps, the air is gone. Also, have fully charged battiers. Hope that helps.

where can you find gas with out ethonal 10% everywhere here and soon to be 15% just a warning ethonal will eat plastic tanks, lines. FLW outdoors march 2011 edition had a very informative article worth a read for any boat owner . I know I will be using some type of additive in my boats and sleds from now on when storing. Using gas from sleds right now that has stable added as i drain tanks and run till they die when stored do same with boats in the fall. I also use a few extra ounces of oil for first tank of season a couple fouled plugs cheaper then a piston or block. Its what I do works for me and I just today sold a 1963 mercury 110 thunderbolt that haven't started since august. Hooked the hose up pumped the ball turned the key vrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooommmmmmm. good luck and good boatin james
