I have a 98 Johnson Ficht oceanrunner engine on my crestliner boat and it has run great great till last year. When at full throttle, the power seems to pull back a bit like it is bogged down. After a while of driving the check engine light comes on and the alarm sounds. Fast forward to this year, the engine starts great, but same problem…. The first thing I did was change out the spark plugs as well as the fuel filter which I hadn’t done in some time. Now, immediately when I start the boat, the check engine light comes on with the audio alarm. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what this could be? Tonight I did grab some statbrite and also put that in the gas…any help is greatly appreciated!
